If you swooned over Tyler Cameron's hometown visit in last season's "The Bachelorette" (opens in new tab), you know that Jupiter is a gorgeous little beach town on the southeast Florida coast. Between the waterways and the canals, this episode only showed a glimpse of Jupiter's charm. And even if you're not a fan of the Bachelorette, you'll love the town's laid-back vibe.
The nearest airport to this coastal town is West Palm Beach International Airport, about a 30-minute drive from Jupiter. (That means you can explore Palm Beach (open in new tab) later in your trip.) Bring plenty of swimsuits (opens in new tab). Once you get there, you will spend most of your time on, in, or near the water. Look for Tyler C. sightings as well as celebrities who call Jupiter home, including Celine Dion, Tiger Woods, and Michael Jordan.
Tyler C. says the best way to explore Jupiter is by boat. Cruise around Jupiter Island, one of the nation's most elite towns, and check out the luxurious multi-million dollar homes. Stop by the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum, where you can climb to the top of the lighthouse for a panoramic view of the city.
The only thing cuter than Tyler C. in Jupiter are the baby sea turtles. Visit the Loggerhead Marinelife Center (open in new tab), a sea turtle rehabilitation facility. The center takes care of injured sea turtles and nurses them back to health before releasing them back into the ocean. At this donation-based center, you can see loggerhead, leatherback, and green sea turtles. Even better, during the turtle nesting season (May through October), a portion of the proceeds from booking the "Stay and Save the Sea Turtles" package (opens in new tab) at the Jupiter Beach Resort will be donated to the Loggerhead Conservation Center.
Enjoy a full day at Guanabanas, a waterfront tiki bar with live music and strong drinks. With banyan trees overhead and margaritas under woven tiki huts, you'll know you've truly arrived in paradise. If you get thirsty while boating, there are several docks in Guanabanas where you can pull up to a restaurant. Tyler C. and Hannah boogied around at a tiki bar during their hometown date in Bachelorette. After a few mai tais, they might start jamming with the band.
The ultra-relaxing Arnica Muscle Relief Massage at the Spa at Jupiter Beach Resort (open in new tab) combines pain-relieving herbs and deep tissue massage to ease tired muscles and leave you feeling blissfully relaxed. For a spa date worthy of the Bachelorette, make it a couples massage.
Jupiter is known as a golf haven, and while the real course is filled with scratch golfers, putter golfers can enjoy a leisurely round of mini-golf at Lighthouse Cove. On-course beer and wine delivery may not contribute to a hole-in-one, but it will keep you entertained all afternoon. Try a local beer from Twisted Trunk Brewing in Palm Beach.
Ready for a one-on-one, Sinclair's Ocean Grill (opens in new tab) is a romantic spot to tuck into fresh seafood with a view of the blue waters of the Atlantic. Start with the lemon basil shrimp with blueberry goat cheese, arugula, and pesto vinaigrette, served with asiago crostini. Sautéed yellowtail snapper from the Florida Keys is served with parmesan polenta, cherry tomato basil relish, and white wine caper sauce. Cocktail lovers won't want to miss the Smoky Draper, a dramatic cocktail of bourbon and blackberry brandy smoked with hickory tableside.
Jupiter is located on the Intracoastal, a 3,000-mile-long stretch of the U.S. East Coast, and is a peaceful place for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. Weave your way through the canal, past mangroves and sandbars, and take in the beauty of South Florida. If you keep your eyes peeled, you'll see manatees, blue herons, and other wildlife. If you're really lucky, you might even spot a shirtless Tyler C. in the wild.
When Tyler C. said "I want you in your highs and I want you in your lows," was he referring to the Jupiter tide? I doubt it, but we can pretend he did as we dip our toes into the soft sand of Jupiter Beach. With so many secluded beaches to choose from, you'll feel like you've joined "The Bachelor in Paradise."
