Jessica Mulroney reportedly worried that her friendship with Meghan Markle is "over for good"

Jessica Mulroney and Meghan Markle (open in new tab) have been friends for years. Marlony was heavily involved in planning Meghan and Prince Harry's 2018 royal wedding (opens in new tab), and her children were among the flower girls and pageboys in the wedding party (opens in new tab). More recently, when Harry and Meghan were on Vancouver Island prior to the royal exit, Marlony was rumored to have stayed at a friend's house to help care for the Sussex couple's son Archie (opens in new tab).

Now, however, their friendship seems to be strained, as black influencer Sasha Exeter and Marlony have been feuding (open in new tab) in public. In a video posted on Instagram, Exeter revealed that Marlony threatened to discourage her industry contacts from working with Exeter.

Mulroney (open in new tab) publicly apologized for the incident, which she positioned as a "disagreement," and at one point defended herself, seemingly alluding to her friendship with Princess Meghan, who has been the target of racism, especially since joining the royal family.

Since the incident, several reports have suggested that Princess Meghan intends to distance herself from Mulroney, at least for the time being. A source close to the situation told The Sun (opens in new tab) that Marlony now fears that the friendship is truly over.

"They have barely spoken," the source said, "and her husband Ben has agreed to confiscate her phone because Jess needs to get away from technology." Then, when she didn't hear anything from Megan on (daughter) Ivy's birthday, she was really concerned and worried that their friendship was over for good." She is very upset about the whole situation.

Still, officials suspect that the friendship is over forever, despite Mulroney's concerns (opens in new tab).

"Meghan obviously can't meet with her in public and needs to chill out now.

Sources have also expressed concern that Mulroney's attempts to return to public life too soon could make the situation worse in the long run. This concern seems to be supported by recent reports that the stylist has hired a crisis PR team (opens in new tab).

"She is trying to prove herself, I understand, but it is absolutely wrong. With all the things going on in the world, nobody cares about your social media. She was constantly on her phone, replying to every negative comment on Instagram, engaging with people and then deleting their replies." She needs to lay low for a while and be a mother.
