Meghan Markle is celebrating! The title "Forces for Change" for the September 2019 issue of British Vogue (opens in new tab), which she guest edited, won a major award: the PPA (Professional Publishers Association) has named the issue's Diversity Initiative of the Year, announced Edward Enninful, editor-in-chief of the UK edition of Vogue, which won the Consumer Editor of the Year award, on Instagram.

The Duchess of Sussex was joined by Adut Akech, Adwoa Aboah, Laverne Cox, Greta Thunberg, Yara Shahidi, Sinéad Burke, Jane Fonda, Jameela Jamil, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and other women who are making a difference were selected for the "Forces for Change" issue. A post on Sussex Royal's official Instagram account explains, "The Duchess has chosen diverse women from all walks of life, each exercising their influence and raising the bar for equality, kindness, justice, and open-mindedness." The mirror, the sixteenth space on the cover, is included so that when you pick up this issue, you will know that you are part of this collective."

In an article in British Vogue announcing her appointment as guest editor, Meghan wrote (opens in new tab). 'Through this lens, I hope you can see the collective strength in the diverse group of women chosen for the cover and the support team I have called upon in this issue to bring this issue to light. I hope that you, the reader, feel the "power of change" that you will find in these pages as much as I do."
