Camilla Parker Bowles injured during ballet "Silver Swan" class

Camilla Parker Bowles is a longtime ballet enthusiast who recently took up dancing herself, reports HELLO! (opens in new tab). Appearing on BBC Radio 5 Live's Emma Barnett Show, she revealed how she got started. It's the (fabulous) "Silver Swan" initiative for older dancers, launched by the Royal Academy of Dance. The Duchess of Cornwall actually observed a class when she visited the Academy in 2018, guided by Angela Rippon, an ambassador for the initiative. As a result, the Duchess of Cornwall established her own dance cohort.

"I gathered a group of friends my age and said, 'We're going to be Silver Swans.' They all laughed and said, 'You've got to be kidding.'"

"We all wore black leggings and T-shirts to the dance. I was so focused that I didn't dare look to the left or right."

Unfortunately, Camilla's enthusiasm resulted in an injury, but that hasn't discouraged her. 'But I can't wait to get back on track.
