Brian was charged with seven felonies and one misdemeanor on Thursday, July 16, Us Weekly reported (opens in new tab). A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said, "If convicted on all charges, he could face a maximum sentence of 10 years and eight months in prison."
"I am coming forward with the truth of what happened to me in hopes that my story will empower others in abusive relationships to get the help they need and deserve," Hayden wrote.
"I am prepared to do my part to ensure that this man never hurts anyone again. I am grateful for the support system that gave me the courage to reclaim my voice and my life."The charges include allegedly injuring Hayden in a May 2019 incident, misdemeanor assault, allegedly injuring Hayden in December 2019 and again in January 2020, and assault with a deadly weapon. Bryan has pleaded not guilty and his bail is currently set at $320,000. He is scheduled to appear in court at the end of July. Hayden has also filed for a protective order against him.
Hayden and Bryan dated from August 2018 until February 2020, when they broke up. Her attorney, Alan Jackson, released a statement to Page Six (opens in new tab): "After suffering for years as a victim of psychological, emotional, and severe physical abuse, Hayden Panettiere has begun the process of reclaiming her life."
