A second Princess Diana has been cast in the Netflix series "The Crown" (opens in new tab)! Elizabeth Debicki will play Princess Diana in the show's final two seasons, reports the BBC (opens in new tab). She replaces Emma Corrin, who will play Princess Diana in Season 4 this fall; according to the BBC, Seasons 5 and 6 will focus on "the breakdown of Princess Diana and Prince Charles' marriage and her death in 1997, which plunged the royal family into crisis."

Debicki's acting credits include "The Night Manager," "Widows," "Vita and Virginia," and "Guardians of the Galaxy": she will also appear in Christopher Nolan's film "Tenet. Princess Diana's spirit, words, and actions live on in the hearts of many. It is a true privilege and honor for me to be a part of this wonderful series.

Debicki will play Princess Diana alongside Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret. The casting of Staunton, a "Harry Potter" native, was announced in January, when she said in a statement, "I loved watching 'The Crown' from the beginning. As an actor, it was a pleasure to watch Claire Foy and Olivia Colman bring something special and unique to Peter Morgan's script. I am truly honored to be a part of such an exceptional creative period and to bring 'The Crown' to completion."
