Taylor Swift Accuses Donald Trump of "Calculated USPS Demolition"

Taylor Swift's days of keeping quiet about politics (opens in new tab) are very, very much over. The "Cardigan" singer took to Twitter Saturday night to blast Donald Trump's (open in new tab) recent treatment of the U.S. Postal Service.

"Trump's calculated dismantling of the USPS proves one thing clearly: he knows damn well we don't want him as president. He has chosen to be blatantly dishonest and put millions of American lives at risk in order to cling to power."

In a follow-up tweet, Taylor added, "Donald Trump's ineffective leadership has seriously exacerbated the crisis we are in and he is now using it to destroy our right to vote and to vote safely. Request your ballot early. Vote early."

Clearly, Taylor's message (open in new tab) resonated with her followers. As of Sunday, the two tweets had combined for more than 1 million likes on the same day. Taylor's tweets were in response to, among other things, Trump's recent comments on FOX about the postal service (opens in new tab).

"They don't have the money to do universal suffrage. That's probably why they can't do it. Are they going to do it even if they don't have the money? Trump said (open in new tab). They don't have the money to do a universal suffrage."
