A source close to Pitt told Us Weekly (opens in new tab) that the filing is an attempt to "hurt" Pitt.

Pitt and Jolie have not publicly discussed the new filing, which dates back to 2016, when Pitt was cleared of child abuse (open in new tab) following an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Children and Family Services, respectively, in November 2016.
