Prince William and Kate Middleton are seeking a public relations position.

Attention royal fans: Prince William and Kate Middleton have a job opening! If you're a social media guru, the job could be yours. This week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posted a position on their website: digital communications officer.

Essentially, the job involves working with a digital lead to manage the family's social media channels (Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube), create social posts, curate feeds, and keep the public informed of what William, Kate, and their children are up to. This work integrates the information they want to disseminate so that the public can know what's going on with William, Kate, and the kids.

In addition, they will be responsible for taking family photos and videos on the fly, as Kate Middleton herself did last year with her successful photo book, Hold Still. The hired candidate will also be involved in communications for all of the Duke and Duchess' charities, but this is definitely not a job for a social media novice: the couple is apparently looking for someone with experience in the field of digital communications.

Needless to say, the job would involve a lot of travel (including supporting the couple's "international travel") and probably a lot of perks - especially if one considers being close to the Duke and Duchess a perk in itself. Especially if one considers being close to the Duke and Duchess a perk in itself: the ability to "tactfully and always discreetly handle sensitive information," meaning that the job would involve royal intrigue.

How important it is for Prince William and Prince Kate to bring diversity to this job role is also emphasized in the job ad article.

If you think you are a good fit for this job, apply through the Royal Family website. If you are hired, feel free to get in touch with me.
