Pete Davidson Says Bob Saget Helped Him Through "Mentally Challenging Times" in Tribute to Late Actor

Pete Davidson doesn't do Instagram, but in the wake of Bob Saget's tragic death this past weekend, he felt it was important to share a few words.

In addition to the beautiful tributes already pouring in to celebrate the actor's life, the SNL star shared his words via the Instagram page of writer and comic Dave Schiras.

"I don't have social media, so I asked Dave if he could post this," Davidson wrote.

"I wanted everyone to know that Bob Saget was one of the nicest men on the planet."

"When I was younger, and several times through our friendship, he helped me get through some tough times emotionally. He spent hours on the phone with my mother, referring me to doctors and new treatments. He checked on me and made sure I was ok. [I love you, Bob. ...... It was an honor to get to know you. Thank you for your kindness and friendship. Condolences to the family

The comedian was among many celebrities who paid touching tributes to Saget, including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Candace Cameron Bure and Josh Radnor.

Davidson has previously been surprisingly open about her struggles with mental health and her diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. He told Glenn Close for Variety in 2021, "I was diagnosed with BPD a few years ago, and I was always confused, and I knew something was wrong, and I didn't know how to deal with it." And when someone finally tells you, you feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off your shoulders. It makes you feel so much better."
