Jamie Lynn Spears Reportedly Skipping Book Tour
When you write and publish a book that you want others to buy and read, you usually have to go on a book tour to promote it. TV and radio interviews, readings, and book signings ....... However, according to TMZ, Jamie Lynn Spears plans to skip all of this and not go on tour to promote her new memoir, Things I Should Have Said.
Reasons for the unusual move," TMZ quotes unnamed sources close to the actor as saying that she does not want to promote the book because she is not interested in making money from it personally. Instead, her camp says she wrote it for personal healing and plans to donate "a portion" of the profits to various charities.
Spears had previously announced that she would donate a portion of the proceeds from Things I Should Have Said to mental health charity This Is My Brave, and according to TMZ's sources, Spears did not name the new charity she would donate to instead This is why she did not announce the name of the new charity she would be donating to instead.
She may not be touring and meeting potential fans in person, but that doesn't mean Spears isn't promoting her memoir at all. She is still giving interviews, including one for Good Morning America, and she is also promoting the book on her personal social media. In another Instagram post, she also hinted at an upcoming interview with People magazine.
Additionally, she is not without a lot of attention already for the book. Controversies and back-and-forths with her sister Britney Spears have generated more interest in the book than any meet-and-greet. Jamie Lynn insists that the book is not about her sister, while Britney says she remains hurt by what JL has said about her in public and in the book.
Given all that, can one blame Jamie Lynn for skipping the tour?
