Royal officials say both Prince William and Prince Harry have "extreme mood swings."
In a way, royal families are just like any other family: they have their disagreements, their falling out, their secrets in the closet.
But when you add the pressures of royal life and the promise of a day on the throne, it is easy to see how they no longer have the most peaceful relationship with one another.
But some of the difficulties Prince Charles is having with his two sons, especially Prince William, apparently stem from their young personalities, which are reminiscent of Princess Diana.
"They both have mood swings, just as Princess Diana did," a former courtier told royal expert Robert Jobson for the Daily Mail." She could be a good friend one moment and the worst of enemies the next."
Prince William is reportedly a hothead, something his father has not managed well." In private, the Duke of Cambridge has a notably short fuse. His temper could explode at any time-usually in frustration or when it comes to family matters," Jobson writes.
"Even senior members of his circle indulge in self-congratulation in his presence, or issues that would be better taken up at another time. . would "check the wind direction" before raising it."
Jobson's "very clear" approach to the issue is "to be sure that the issue is not a problem.
Jobson also claims that the Duke and his wife, Kate Middleton, are "known to have occasional heated arguments."
The royal expert explained that the Duchess's "skillful diplomatic skills" have helped her mediate conflicts between her husband and father-in-law.
While one might think that a shared commitment by father and son to environmental protection would help their relationship, the difference in their approaches may actually be something of a tension.
"The Duke of Cambridge has done a great job of injecting hope into the debate over climate change, instead of always saying we are on the precipice," one aide told Jobson. 'His initiative [the Earthshot Prize Competition] is to find ways to stop and slow the damage.' The Prince of Wales is passionate but presents a doomsday scenario.
I hope they don't fight too much.
