Release date officially set for film starring Olivia Wilde, Harry Styles and Florence Pugh
We knew Harry Styles and Florence Pugh would be in a movie together, but now we have even more details.
I am trying hard not to squeal with glee as I type this, but the film now has an official release date and more information is circulating about the plot and the message behind it.
"In theaters 9 - 23 - 22 only," director Olivia Wilde (and rumored fiancée of Stiles) posted on Instagram, along with the sexiest still from the film, titled Don't Worry Darling. The photo shows Stiles and Pugh pressed face to face in bed, her hand on his face and his hand holding hers.
It's hot, steamy, and, predictably and figuratively, Internet-busting.
According to Variety, cinema-goers at CinemaCon were given an exclusive first look at the film's trailer. The two stars play a California couple. Variety writes, "Pugh plays a happy housewife who grows suspicious that her husband's glamorous company may be hiding a disturbing secret." And they will have lots of sex.
"Imagine a life where you have everything you want," Wilde said at CinemaCon. "Not just material, tangible things. ...... for example, a beautiful house, perfect weather, a gorgeous car. But also the things that really matter, like true love, the perfect partner, a friendship you can really trust, a purpose that feels meaningful."
"What would it take to give up that life, that perfect life? What are we really willing to sacrifice to do the right thing?
Yeah, so a September release date just isn't possible for me. Can we negotiate an advance?
Wilde also calls Stiles "an up-and-coming actor with no other career as far as I know, and he's nothing but a revelation in this role," and just laughs.
