Kylie Jenner's trucker hat was the most controversial accessory at the Met Gala

The Internet is an unforgiving place, and Kylie Jenner unfortunately took the brunt of it after her Met Gala appearance on Monday. But thankfully, she's been a reality star for 15 years, so she's probably quite used to it.

Jenner hit the red carpet wearing a fluffy, ruffled, wedding-like dress with a see-through white panel on top, which she paired with a trucker hat finished with a veil. The outfit was courtesy of Off-White, the label of the late Virgil Abloh.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder posted a photo of her outfit and Khloe Kardashian's on Instagram with the caption, "Diamond of the season," inspired by Bridgerton.

Jenner's followers, however, were clearly not keen on the star's red carpet getup. Here are some of the comments:

As you may recall, the theme was "In America: And what accessory could be more American than a trucker hat? Furthermore, given that Jenner wore Off-White as a tribute to Virgil Abloh, a genuine American fashion icon who, despite some controversy during his lifetime, died an untimely death, perhaps this outfit actually might have been it.
