Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly want to move to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

For several months now, we have heard rumors that the Cambridge family is seriously considering a move to Windsor, Berkshire, to be closer to the Queen, who lives permanently at Windsor Castle.

For the past few weeks there have been rumors that a move is being planned for this summer. And as the season in question approaches, these rumors have become increasingly true.

In the latest news, The Sun reports that Prince William and Kate Middleton have even set their hearts on the first choice home in town where they reportedly want to live with their children George (8), Charlotte (7), and Louis (4)." Adelaide will be the favorite as all other homes have problems."

Adelaide Cottage is one of the Queen's modest homes. Fans of The Crown will surely enjoy this interesting tidbit: Captain Peter Townsend, whom the young Princess Margaret wished to marry, lived there for several years in the late 40s and early 50s. Frogmore House was another option for the Cambridges, but it seemed too expensive to make it a functional residence.

Anmer Hall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's current vacation home, is too far north to return to London for work. The couple is said to like the countryside, which is one reason they are eager to move to Windsor. There, they would be close to both the Queen and the Middletons, who live at Bucklebury Manor, less than an hour's drive away.

Another reason for the move is the children's schooling. The Duke and Duchess are apparently torn over whether to send Prince George to boarding school, but many of the schools they are considering are close enough to Windsor that they would not necessarily have to leave home to attend.

We will have to wait and see what happens.
