Kate Middleton, who embodied Princess Diana's "popularity and empathy," asks body language expert

Since Princess Diana's untimely death, many commentators have weighed in on her enduring legacy.

Princess Diana was a beloved figure throughout the world, so it is only natural that people would want to know who in the royal family most honors her legacy. Of course, Princess Diana is irreplaceable, and many royals embody the qualities of the deceased.

Nevertheless, according to body language expert Darren Stanton, it is Kate Middleton who most resembles her husband's mother throughout her marriage to Prince William and at numerous official functions.

For Stanton, the Duchess' confidence, popularity, and credibility are the trick, which was proven for the thousandth time this week when the Duchess of Cambridge named the winner of the Queen Elizabeth II Prize for British Design.

"If you quickly observe Kate walking at the awards ceremony, you can see from her posture, her walk and her smile that she has evolved so much as a person over the last ten years," Stanton told Marie Claire on behalf of Betfair Casino (opens in new tab).

"There is a very quiet confidence and elegance about Kate right from the start. Her walk is confident and bold. She doesn't clench her hands or grab her arms."

This expert feels that the Duchess is a complete purist and takes a sincere interest in the different people she meets in her various jobs - from budding fashion designers to market stall owners to first responders. This, he says, is the same as her late mother-in-law.

"She shows a genuine willingness to learn about others that cannot be faked, just as Princess Diana did.

"On more than one occasion, the body language of those interacting with Kate showed that those surrounding the Duchess turned their body positions toward Kate, forming a perfect triangular pyramid or pyramid shape, showing strong trust and mutual goodwill. Likewise, their feet also turned toward Kate, which reveals that they want to be around that particular situation and her.

"It is clear that Kate is now one of the most popular members of the senior royal family, and because of her sincerity and genuineness she is able to connect with people from all walks of life and ages.

"It is easy to see the similarities between Kate and Princess Diana, and I have not seen any member of the Royal Family in recent years emulate or encompass the popularity and empathy that Princess Diana had as Kate.

Middleton's sister-in-law Meghan Markle has also long been compared to Princess Diana. Body language expert Judy James even called her a "perfect copy" of the late Princess Diana last year.
