Queen reworks lipstick at first Jubilee appearance.
You won't see Queen Elizabeth II wearing crumbly, crumbly lipstick. But you might see her casually reapplying lipstick in public. As Britain's longest-serving monarch, she probably never thought she would do such a thing.
Anyway, the queen recently attended her first platinum jubilee event, the annual Royal Windsor Horse Show, where she was photographed refreshing her beauty with bright pink lipstick on a stand. In other words, talk about royal influence.
But while this gesture feels to my great ignorance like a surprising gesture for the monarch, there's actually a long history of her doing this at public events: at the 2014 Commonwealth Games with the late Prince Philip. Check it out:
And here she is doing it at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in 1985 (of course):
And here she is with Prince Philip in Fiji in 1977!
Lipstick aside, the Queen delighted onlookers with a big smile on her face at her first official appearance in many years (the 2022 Jubilee Royal Windsor Horse Show). The Queen seemed to be having a great time at the show.
It is also reported that the Queen's face "lit up" when her granddaughter Lady Louise Windsor (daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex) appeared as part of the horse show. There is a photo of her wiping her eyes, but surely there was just a tiny speck of dust there? That said, I have seen her cry in the past, so there is room for interpretation.
ITV News' royal editor told the television program Good Morning Britain, "I think all eyes were on the moment when Lady Louise Windsor, daughter of Edward and Sophie, rode into the arena in the carriage bequeathed to her by the Duke of Edinburgh" ( (via Express).
"It's not surprising that the Queen can seem a little emotional at times.
