Kate Middleton was adorably nervous when the Queen visited her "back-to-nature" garden.
The Chelsea Flower Show takes place this week, and no one will forget when Kate Middleton designed the garden for the show in 2019. But behind the scenes, the Duchess of Cambridge was apparently adorably nervous as she waited for her grandmother-in-law, the Queen, to arrive at the show to see her work.
Kate's "back-to-nature" garden included a handmade treehouse and rope swing, inspired by Kate's childhood. It was also decorated with forget-me-nots, a favorite of the late Princess Diana. When the queen visited the show, Kate proudly showed her around.
"But before the Queen arrived, a nervous-looking Kate, eager to impress, scurried about tidying up the garden," the Mirror reported. According to onlookers, "Kate was stuffing twigs and leaves into a designer handbag.
Fortunately, and not surprisingly, the Queen seems to have taken a liking to Kate's garden. The Mirror reports that the Queen will be attending the Chelsea Flower Show this week with other royals, including her granddaughter, Princess Beatrice. Among the exhibits will be the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Garden, "a laser-cut steel silhouette surrounded by 70 terra cotta pots representing the years of her reign," the Mirror wrote.
The Queen has attended the Chelsea Flower Show more than 50 times during her 70-year reign.
