Khloe Kardashian Explains How Drama with Tristan Thompson Affected Her Confidence

Whatever your personal stance on the Kardashian family, it's hard to imagine how difficult it must be to be under constant scrutiny like these women.

Khloe Kardashian has been particularly affected by what people say about her on social media and beyond. She has addressed it several times in the past, and again in a recent interview with Amanda Hirsch on her podcast "Not Skinny But Not Fat" (open in new tab).

In particular, she described the many ways in which social media backlash must be considered before doing or saying anything in public.

"I hesitate to do them because when I do interviews, people take a 22-second clip and they make a TikTok video out of it," Kardashian told Hirsch (via Us Weekly). 'And then it gets taken out of context and becomes this viral thing. Why don't you watch the first five minutes? Maybe you'll understand why I said that, maybe you won't. Now we are always stuck explaining ourselves and I think the world wants to cancel people out."

The Good American founder also explained how all the hate she receives on social media compounded with all the drama she experienced with her ex Tristan Thompson (his cheating and paternity scandal) formed a perfect confidence-robbing storm.

"When we first started the show, there was no social media. In the beginning, not many people had access to give you stories."

Kardashian added, "This is not natural. It's definitely something you can't prepare yourself for"

.

"I can definitely say that over the last couple of years, things have definitely changed. I don't know if it has anything to do with what happened with Tristan, but maybe that made me less confident and other things came on top of it.

Still, she and Thompson maintain an amicable relationship for the sake of their 4-year-old daughter, True. Kardashian said of her daughter, "She FaceTimes Thompson every night and is very friendly. There's no drama."
