Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Royal Departure Forces Prince William and Kate Middleton to "Kickstart Star Power," Experts Say
As a former actress, Meghan Markle has long been accustomed to the glittering red carpet. But according to experts, Prince Harry and Meghan's departure from the royal family has forced Prince William and Kate Middleton to "step up their star quality," reports the Mirror.
Just last week, we saw Kate dazzle at the "Top Gun" red carpet premiere in London: at last year's premiere of the James Bond film "No Time to Die," her glittering gold Jenny Packham gown stole the show stole the show. On True Royalty TV's "The Royal Beat," a panel of experts talked about how the Cambridges have undergone a "monumental transition" since their 10th wedding anniversary in 2021.
"They've gone from walking with wax jackets and dogs to walking the red carpet with tiaras, ball gowns, velvet, and Tom Cruise," said royal expert Duncan Larcombe.
"It's a lot of fun," says royal expert Duncan Larrabee, "but it's also a lot of fun.
Tessa Dunlop, another royal expert and historian, says the transformation was partially due to Harry and Meghan.
"I think you have to give Harry and Meghan some of the credit," she says.
Yet, long before their red carpet, tuxedo, and designer dress days, they had a particularly VIP fan: Her Majesty the Queen saw the power of the two, even on their wedding day in 2011.
"The Queen played aggressively on her grandson's nuptial day and, according to one observer, "almost skipped it."
"The queen harbored a sense that the future of her family, the royal family, was secure. The monarchy was once again held in admiration and affection by the masses.
