Harry Styles Donates $1 Million to Everytown for Gun Safety After Texas School Shooting

Harry Styles has pledged to donate $1 million to gun safety organizations in the wake of the Uvalde, Texas, shootings.

The singer will donate proceeds from his upcoming North American tour, dubbed "Love on Tour 2022," to Everytown for Gun Safety. Live Nation will match his donation.

Stiles took to Instagram to share why this donation is important to him, posting the caption "End gun violence."

The text image read, "Like many of you, I have been greatly shocked by the recent string of shootings in the United States, starting with the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Texas. On our North American tour, we will be partnering with Everytown, an organization working to end gun violence, to make a donation to support their work and share their suggested action items."

The second slide read, "Firearms are the number one cause of death for children and teens in America."

The last slide contained the following call to action: "Text "ACT" to 64433 to fight with Everytown to end gun violence.

Live Nation matched his post, saying, "Live Nation is proud to join Harry Styles in matching his donation to the Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund.

Stiles' pledge comes in response to the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, which left 19 children and two teachers dead and 17 more injured.

Princess Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, also recently visited the town of Uvalde to pay her respects at a temporary memorial to the victims and to show her support by donating food to volunteers at a local blood drive.
