Cambridge couple moves to "modest" Adelaide Cottage with no live-in staff

Prince Charles and his wife Cambridge are reportedly planning to make the monarchy more casual and down-to-earth.

For Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children, the move to Windsor is the latest in a series of decisions they have made to make themselves more approachable and relatable.

After months of rumors about the Queen's plans to relocate to her new home, we reported this past weekend that the move is indeed official. At that stage, their chosen home, Adelaide Cottage, was still only a strong possibility, but it now seems all but confirmed.

This particular house was chosen not only because of whether they had to take it away from Princess Eugenie (just kidding, I'm sure there is no bad blood there), but also because it is essentially a regular family home (albeit on castle grounds).

"Kate and William very much wanted a modest home to start their new life in Windsor," a source told The Sun.

"Adelaide Cottage is a four-bedroom house, because they don't need more than that, as they don't have live-in staff.

"They were adamant that they didn't want anything too fancy or requiring renovations or extra security so as not to burden the taxpayer.

Since there is now at least some degree of anti-royalism in the UK, it is in the practical interest of the Royal Family not to burden the public.

The Cambridges also take this seriously: "They are going to pay their rent out of their private accounts. All they need to do is move in their cherished furniture and belongings." The whole family is looking forward to moving in this summer and starting a new chapter of their lives together in Windsor."

All of the children will attend school together somewhere near the town of Berkshire, and it doesn't hurt that grandparents Michael and Carol Middleton are just a short drive away at the Bucklebury residence.
