Kate Middleton, referring to Prince William, says becoming Princess of Wales is a "good move"
Prince William and Kate Middleton are poised to become Prince and Princess of Wales when Prince Charles ascends the throne. (The titles do not automatically change, but it is traditional for the eldest child of a monarch to receive the title.)
Camilla Parker-Bowles technically holds the title of Princess of Wales, but as a mark of respect for the beloved late Princess Diana, who was the last to assume that title, she does not use it.
It is therefore particularly significant that the Duchess of Cambridge is likely to become the Duchess of Wales, and she and her husband have visited Wales several times over the past few years, preparing diligently for this impending role.
During their last visit to Wales on the Saturday of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend, a royal fan captured on camera the sweetest moment as the Duke and Duchess met the locals who had gathered to see them.
The video, posted by Twitter user @hellen3030, shows the Duchess, wearing Eponine's red coat, shaking hands with members of the public. One can be heard telling her, "You're going to be a wonderful Princess of Wales." Middleton then replies, "That's very kind of you," before turning to Prince William and saying, "I'm fine." Very cute?
@hellen3030 told People about seeing the royal couple and their children. The Cambridges are a humble, lovely family."
"I flew in last minute from Miami to attend the Platinum Jubilee and decided to go to Cardiff the day before. I met some wonderful people from all over the world who were eager to meet them."
"I didn't find out until later that they were bringing Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Once we met the Cambridges, we were all fascinated by them. We missed the train back to London and arrived late for the Platinum Party at the Palace, but it was worth it! [15
