Prince William and his three children laugh hysterically in newly released photo
This month we got to see a lot of the Cambridge kids, Prince George (age 8), Princess Charlotte (age 7), and Prince Louis (age 4). This snap, taken last fall in Jordan on a private family trip, is the same as last year's Cambridge family holiday card, with the foursome (plus a beaming Kate Middleton) wearing the same outfit.
The holiday card photo was more subdued, but in this unpublished image, William is all smiles, while the three children seem to be laughing hysterically at what is going on behind the camera. Charlotte and George are sitting beside their father, while Louis is sitting on William's shoulder.
"Happy Father's Day to all the fathers and grandfathers in the world today!" the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posted on their official Instagram account.
Jordan is especially important to Kate, as the family lived in the Middle Eastern country for nearly three years when her father, Michael Middleton, worked for British Airways. Last year was also not William's first visit to Jordan; PEOPLE reported that he made a royal visit to the country in 2018.
"My wife, Princess Catherine, is very sad that she will not be here with me shortly after the birth of our son Louis, but her family has very fond memories of the nearly three years she spent here as a child when her father worked for British Airways in Amman. I remember," William said in a speech during the tour. 'Catherine's experience is nothing special, and the interactions between our two countries, whether through work, study, tourism, or family connections, are real and deep. Our historic ties and friendships are played out in the lives of thousands of people who consider both countries their home."
According to Tatler magazine, the Cambridges visited the city of Petra in particular during an underwater trip last year.
"The historic city of Petra in southern Jordan, where the family photo was taken, is famous for its beauty and fascinating archaeology, and was even voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a 2007 poll. With its distinctive red sandstone and stunning temples, Petra has become a favorite destination for filmmakers and has been used in such hits as "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" and "The Mummy Returns."
For William, this week is a big week - in addition to celebrating Father's Day today, he turns 40 on Tuesday.
