Haley Bieber Sued by Fashion Brand for Using Name "Lord" in Beauty Line

Looks like Haley Bieber is in a bit of legal trouble.

The model recently launched a beauty line she named Rhode, and the decision has not pleased everyone.

Fashion label Rhode is not thrilled about this, especially considering that Bieber previously asked them to use their name (and possibly change their name), but was reportedly turned down at the time. But she went ahead with it anyway.

The fashion brand announced their decision to sue Bieber on Instagram.

They wrote: [Nine years ago, we quit our jobs, founded Lord in an apartment, and started a fashion company from scratch. We were two women entrepreneurs who met in college, started the RHODE brand, and have worked hard for years as a minority co-owned company.

Today we were forced to file a lawsuit against Haley Bieber and her new skin care line that launched last week using the brand "rhode." We did not want to file this lawsuit, but we had to in order to protect our business.

We commend Haley. She worked hard and earned the ability to create her own skin care line. We do not want to sue Haley; we want to congratulate her. As fellow female entrepreneurs, we wish her success.

Haley could have chosen any brand for her skin care line. We only have the brand name RHODE, which we have built ourselves. That is why we did not sell her our brand four years ago when she wanted to sell it, and why we are now asking her to rebrand her skin care line. Her use of our brand is hurting our company, our employees, our customers, and our partners.

While we are confident in the outcome of the lawsuit, we hope that Haley now understands the harm we are sure she never intended and will rebrand her skin care line. Thank you all for appreciating and supporting our vision.

I personally am a big fan of both Bieber's and Rohde's (fashion brand) and hope that both parties can resolve this issue without too much trouble.

And if this has awakened your curiosity about Rohde's clothing, please know this: it is loved by celebrities, including Mindy Kaling, Whitney Port, and editors Laura Brown and Carly Cardellino. Marie Claire editors also love it, and below are a few of our favorites.
