Prince William and Kate Middleton Know When to Show PDA and When to Refrain: Body Language Expert
Many commentators have noted how accustomed Prince William and Kate Middleton seem to be to showing gestures of affection in public in recent years, in contrast to their sometimes somewhat awkward appearance in the early years of their marriage.
However, just because we often see people holding hands or placing reassuring hands on each other's arms, shoulders, or backs in formal settings does not mean that they do not know when to refrain from such gestures.
According to body language expert Darren Stanton, their commemoration of Windrush Day on June 22 is an example of a scene where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge knew that it was more appropriate to act more formally to reflect the seriousness of the day They say.
"I have seen Kate and William indulge in public displays of affection during royal functions before, but as a couple they know when it is considered appropriate," Stanton told Marie Claire on behalf of Slingo (opens in new tab). 'When I was in London yesterday attending a youth group, I saw a noticeable distance between Kate and William. Whether interacting with others or walking side by side, the two were visibly less tactile."

For Stanton, this attitude does not indicate that there is trouble in their relationship, but rather that they are very much on the same page regarding how they should appear to the public.
"This move is deliberate, given the nature of the event, and shows how William and Kate have empathy, compassion, and intelligence.
The Duke and Duchess reflected on their visit to the ELEVATE youth program in the London borough of Brixton on Instagram, writing, "This morning we visited ELEVATE...ELEVATE opens up the creative and cultural fields to all young people living in the South London borough of Lambeth. It is an innovative youth program that aims to. [The program supports the next generation of creatives to hone their talents so that they can succeed in a wide range of fields from photography to film. It has been wonderful to see young people making the most of the facilities, developing their skills and setting high goals for their future potential in the creative field
