"Enough Drama" Over Harry & Meghan, Report Says
Queen Elizabeth is reportedly fed up with the drama surrounding her grandson Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.
According to a recent report in the Daily Mail, the Queen feels that there has been enough controversy around Harry and Meghan since their separation from the royal family, which is why the Duchess of Sussex's bullying investigation is being handled privately.
The Queen announced last year that she had launched an investigation after The Times published an article in which the Duchess of Sussex accused royal staff of bullying her. The staff complaint was made during the "toxic period" before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to California in early 2020.
The royal entourage was reportedly humiliated, sickened, horrified, and in tears. Princess Meghan was accused of inflicting emotional cruelty on the staff, and one person branded the Sussexes "ridiculous bullies."
Princess Meghan vehemently denied these claims, calling the Times article the result of a "calculated smear campaign."
The Sussexes issued a statement: "This is a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and damaging misinformation. We are disappointed to see such a slanderous portrayal of the Duchess of Sussex being given credence by the media. It is no coincidence that distorted and years-old accusations aimed at undermining the Duchess are being described in the British media just before she and the Duke are supposed to speak openly and honestly about their experiences over the last few years."
They added: "The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, especially as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to helping those who have experienced pain and trauma. The Duchess is determined to continue her work of building compassion around the world and will continue to strive to be an example of doing what is right and doing what is good."[13
