Halsey says abortion saved their lives after experiencing a miscarriage

Halsey revealed that she had experienced three miscarriages, one of which resulted in an abortion. Following the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision, the "Nightmare" singer wrote an essay for Vogue magazine about their experience.

"I rewrote my will in the middle of my pregnancy," they revealed. Halsey is now a mom to her partner, Aleve Eydin, and their son, Ender Ridley, whom they welcomed in July 2021.

They continued, "Based on past experience, we prepared for the worst. That is, if my heart was beating but my brain was not functioning, the state would cut into my warm, still-fired body and give permission to remove my organs in order to save other lives."

"How ludicrous it is that I cannot consent to save my life if my heart is beating in the womb when my own heart is merely going through a series of involuntary movements on the operating table.

They added, "Some of those who want to see an end to abortion rights believe this is right." However, Holsey's experience has become more supportive of people's right to choose.

[10] "Many people have asked me if I have reconsidered my stance on abortion now that I have a child after years of struggling. The answer is a resounding no." On the contrary, I have never felt so strongly about it. Abortion saved my life and gave my son a way out. Every person has the right to choose when, if, and how they will have this dangerous and life-altering experience. I will hold my son in one arm and fight with all my might with the other."
