The Queen and Prince Charles wanted Meghan Markle to repair her relationship with her father

If it were up to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, Meghan Markle and her father, Thomas Markle, would have a good relationship.

New information has come to light thanks to British journalist Tom Bower's new book Revenge: Revenge: Meghan, Harry And The War Between The Windsors. Page Six" reports that the book claims that Prince Charles and the Queen had a telephone conversation a few weeks after Prince Harry and Meghan's May 2018 wedding. The call was an attempt by Prince Charles and the Queen to convince Meghan to repair her relationship with her father.

However, after her father publicly humiliated her by staging paparazzi photos and making negative statements about her to the press, Meghan chose not to repair the relationship. At the wedding, Meghan said her father was unable to attend for health reasons, but according to the book, this was a result of their strained relationship.

"Couldn't she go to him and make this stop?" Charles asked Harry, according to Bower's book.

Princess Meghan found it "totally unrealistic" to fly to where her father lived in Mexico and "somehow hope to speak to him privately without causing further embarrassment to the royal family without causing media frenzy and intrusion."

Harry and Meghan announced two weeks later that they were stepping down from their duties as senior royals.
