Prince George's 9th birthday portrait by Kate Middleton is so adorable!
Prince George is not so little anymore.
Prince George, third in line to the British throne, turns 9 today, July 22, and as we've come to expect, his parents are celebrating the happy occasion with a little boy (pre-teen?) and a little girl.
In it, George is all smiles for the camera as he hangs out by the sea, and royal fans were quick to point out that George looks a lot like his father, Prince William, in the photo.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share these new photos with Prince George ahead of his 9th birthday tomorrow," Kensington Palace said in a statement (via People).
Kate Middleton is not credited as the photographer on the Cambridges' social media accounts, as is usual, but several outlets report that she was indeed behind the portrait of her eldest son.
Posting a sweet photo on Instagram, the Duke and Duchess wrote, "George is turning 9!" they wrote, adding a birthday cake and a balloon emoji.
As he gets older, Prince George is making more public appearances.
Most recently, he watched the Wimbledon tennis tournament for the first time and celebrated the platinum jubilee of his great-grandmother, the Queen. Last year, she was also able to watch the Euro soccer final.
George is getting older and older and making me feel old. Hope you are feeling better.
Happy birthday, Your Highness!
