Donald Trump reveals “sad” private conversation he had with “handsome” Prince William about Princess Kate and King Charles' cancer journey.
While there is still a month until Donald Trump returns to the White House, the president-elect met with several world leaders during his visit to Paris for the re-opening of Notre Dame Cathedral.
President Trump told the New York Post that he had a “wonderful” chat with Prince William, who attended the rededication ceremony as the British representative. During the lengthy meeting, they apparently even discussed the health of Princess Kate and King Charles.
“I asked him about his wife and he said she was doing well,” Trump said, adding, “I asked him about his father and he was sad because he fights so hard and he loves his father and he loves his wife.”
Both the Crown Princess of the United Kingdom, 42, and King Charles, 76, were diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year, and Princess Kate announced in September that she had finished chemotherapy.
“We had a great talk for half an hour, a little over half an hour,” Trump continued. 'We had a great, great talk.'
On the subject of greatness, Trump also paid tribute to Prince William's looks, saying, “He's handsome. He looked really, really handsome last night.”
However, this praise was accompanied by a bit of a backhanded compliment. 'Some people look nicer in person, don't they? He looked really nice.
Perhaps it was the Prince of Wales' fan-favorite beard that did the trick?
Looks aside, the two met at the British ambassador's residence in Paris, where Trump said, “He's a great guy. He's going to do a great job."
The two men have been in touch for some time. [Last week he attended a state visit to Qatar at Buckingham Palace, and on Friday he attended Princess Kate's annual Christmas carol concert. She also served Christmas dinner to the homeless at Passage, one of her favorite charities in London, and did a “wonderful” job of spreading Christmas cheer, in President Trump's favorite words.
