Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are “very savvy” about online shopping

Kate Middleton and Prince William's children are apparently very professional when it comes to online shopping for Christmas gifts.

Grant Harold, former royal butler to King Charles, opened up about the royal family's Christmas shopping habits. And according to Harold, some members of the family use online shopping to discreetly deliver gifts in time for Christmas.

In an interview with The Mirror, Harold explained, “Young people in particular are savvy about online shopping, which makes Christmas shopping easier.” It is certainly fun to imagine Princess Charlotte, Prince George, and Prince Louis using their parents' credit cards to buy gifts over the Internet.

However, Harold is not convinced that every member of the royal family will be wrapping their own gifts. 'I can easily imagine Kate, William, and Anne wrapping the presents themselves, but not the King. He will have someone else do it.”

Harold also spoke of King Charles' preference when it comes to receiving gifts. He doesn't like to be presented with anything extravagant or expensive,” Harold said. He would be embarrassed if you spent a fortune for him. He will say, 'That's nice, but it really shouldn't be given as a gift.'”

Instead, Prince Charles reportedly prefers simple, inexpensive gifts. 'So for Christmas, I used to give him Victorian gardening books and products made with honey.'

The former butler also noted that even members of the royal family like to save where they can. 'Everyone thinks that the royals only shop at high-end stores,' he said. But they go to the same stores we do.”

Of course, Christmas shopping in public can be quite awkward for members of the Royal Family. But according to Harold, even Queen Elizabeth was known to shop at her favorite stores on occasion. 'In the 1950s, the late Queen Elizabeth is said to have done her Christmas shopping at Harrods with her cousin [the Duchess of Kent], but she also frequented a local store in the village of Ballater, near Balmoral. The royal family enjoys a bargain.”
