King Charles and Queen Camilla bid farewell to the Qatari Royal Family on Wednesday,12 May. 4, and the Queen made a meaningful and ultra-chic fashion statement in the process.

Amir of Qatar and his wife, Sheika Jawaher, left London on Wednesday, and Queen Camilla used her wardrobe to subtly honor the Middle Eastern country, just as Princess Kate did on Tuesday. Her Majesty wore an elegant purple cape coat, paired with black leather gloves and tall black suede boots, while saying goodbye to the royal couple.

However, the shade of eggplant in her outerwear was not just a clean shade; the flag of Qatar featured maroon and white colors, and according to the World Atlas, purple was originally proposed for that flag due to the country's long history of purple dye production.

Camilla also used her jewellery to pay tribute to Qatar, choosing pieces that held great sentimental significance for the farewell. The Queen wore a three-strand pearl necklace featuring an amethyst clasp, both pearls and sparkling purple stones hold importance.

Pearls have historically been a symbol of Qatar and the pearl diving industry has played an important role in its culture and economy for thousands of years. Per Buckingham Palace, Queen Camilla also received a pearl necklace as a gift from Sika during a visit to London.

The amethyst stone also has a hidden meaning. According to Maxwell Stone, jewellery expert at Steven Stone Jewelers, "Amethyst is known for its connection to wellness and health, making it a particularly suitable option for Queen Camilla, who continues to carry out royal duties while recovering from pneumonia.

Queen Camilla has recently missed some royal events due to the lingering effects of pneumonia, and Stone added that amethyst's "healing properties add an extra layer of meaning to the necklace.", It symbolizes strength and resilience during this challenging time.

The necklace Camilla wore on Wednesday has been in her collection for decades and she wore it during her first royal event in 2002, a memorial service for Princess Margaret.

This work is especially important because the current Queen also wore it when she and King Charles announced their engagement on the night of 2005.

For the rest of the state visit, Queen Camilla debuted a stunning diamond tiara when she stepped down at a state banquet on Tuesday night. The Queen, who wore a gorgeous red velvet evening dress for the event, topped her look with a historic Kokoshnik tiara that Queen Elizabeth had worn many times during her reign.
