Fans played the National anthems of Qatar and England after the King, Queen and Princess of Wales took part in a carriage procession to Buckingham Palace. You can look forward to some glitz and circumstance when you join a performance by a band of Irish Guards who will perform at the event.
Princess Kate's last state visit was almost a year ago, when the South Korean President and First Lady visited Buckingham Palace. During the 2023-11 trip, the Princess of Wales attended the official Welcome ceremony and also attended a glittering state banquet wearing a tiara that had not been worn in nearly 100 years at Buckingham Palace.
As for this year's banquet, according to the Palace, the Princess of Wales sadly does not attend.
It is set to be a busy week for the Princess to host her annual Christmas Carol concert at Westminster Abbey on 12 May 6.
Even though Kate missed the banquet, there is no doubt that we will be treated to plenty of royal glamour during this state visit.
