Louis Vuitton's New York Destination Flagship Store is a journey

No one who said that life is more about the journey than the destination has ever had the opportunity to shop at Louis Vuitton's new five-storey flagship.-

The luxury retailer's current largest store in North America is only temporary, and eventually an even more spacious address is being renovated across the street. (The scaffolding of that building, made to look like a stack of Louis Vuitton steamer trunks, has recently become a tourist attraction in its own right. But because of the momentary address, this LV imprinted store clearly feels permanent.

The space designed by OMA Architects features a soaring atrium with an installation of even more Louis Vuitton trunks stacked in the sky. In the 5 stores you can find ready-to-wear, leather goods and custom collections made just for the Fifth Avenue store - the ultimate luxury souvenir. The space also features Louis Vuitton's first Stateside restaurant, which has joined the ranks of runway menus such as Tiffany and Armani, and Maxim Frederick's fine chocolates. And for shoppers who often track Louis Vuitton's entry and exit on the red carpet, a private salon on the fifth floor for top clients will feature creative director Nicolas Geschière, including the Burgundy leather dress Zendaya recently wore in New York City. The design of the building is on display.

Speaking of Celebrities: a-listers are already anointing the space to their major destinations at their 11th grand opening party. 14. Brand friends such as Ana de Armas and Jennifer Connelly showed off their LV mini dresses, while Cynthia Erivo combined the volume and tiers of Louis Vuitton's red carpet wear with the recent evil green trend. Their pieces were more tailor—made than what you'll find on the rack - but they nonetheless set a higher tone.

However, the store's most postcard-worthy feature is not the list of potential stars you'll see coming and going from the store. This is a set of installations that highlight past Louis Vuitton collaborations with Supreme, Takashi Murakami, Stephen Sprouse and others. A single bag from each collection holds a court in a room painted to reflect remixed prints and patterns from each collection. Once inside, the editor told me it felt like they were transported to another world (or maybe inside their own Instagram).Being in instagram, the editor told me. According to them, the whole space is immersive and worth traveling.
