A former royal journalist shares the time when Princess Diana tricked the press and swapped outfits for a "microscopic" ensemble
Pictures of Princess Diana in a leopard print dress and matching salon are some of the royal family's most iconic shots, and decades later, women are still chasing the perfect recreation of her appearance (Do I own a similar version by Good American' Yes,yes I do.But even though her swimsuit stands strong alone, one former royal reporter recently shared that Diana's animal print outfit is actually a clever trick to hide her real swimsuit from the press.
I'm a celebrity...get me out of here! Contestant Jane Moore, a former royal correspondent and co-host of the popular British talk show The Loose Woman, told her fellow campmates about how Diana walked the wild side in an episode of the hit British reality show.
Moore explained that Princess Diana would "go on holiday and all the media would go as well, and then her detectives would come and go, 'right, you're alone for a week she
The TV personality said that Diana was wearing an animal print dress and was wearing a hat with a young Prince William. It was referring to the princess's 1990 vacation to Necker Island, where photos of the famous leopard swimsuit were taken when Prince Lee was playing in the sand.
The press snapped away from a nearby boat and Moore said, "We turned the boat and when we were far away, she came back to the most microscopic red bikini beach you've ever seen.""Take it, paparazzi.
Of course, the media absolutely lost it, Moore shared, "All the photographers were throwing money into our boat guys go" turn around!
The journalist made a "deal" with the press Diana "was really good at having a relationship with the media."..She played it very well.
But one of such press relations did not work out much, as both the late Royal's ex-lover James Hewitt and the driver Stephen Davis spoke out in Diana's explosive 1995 BBC Panorama interview. Decades later, an investigation found that reporter Martin Bashir used false information and misleading tactics to persuade Diana to join the show.
Davis told the Daily Mail how Bashir was fired from his job for a lie he gave to the royal family to gain her trust — and the former Royal chauffeur only found out the real reason he was fired after watching the 2022 episode of the Netflix Crown.
As for Hewitt, he called Bashir a "toad" and told the Sun that in an interview he had become "the most hated person in the world.""
