Cher reveals the X-rated advice Lucille Ball gave her regarding her marriage to Sonny Bono

Music Legend Cher is open about her life and career in her new book, Cher: Memoirs, Part 1. In a new excerpt shared today, the "believe in" singer revealed that she sought advice from Lucille Ball while struggling with her marriage to Sonny Bono.

"I called Lucille Ball to ask for her advice," Cher explained. "I said to her,"Lucy, I want to leave Sony and you are the only person who knows that I have ever been in this same situation." What should I do?Lucy and her husband had also become famous working together as stars on TV.

Cher, of course, refers to the marriage with Ball I Love Lucy co-star Digiarnaz. "And he was also a huge womanizer," the singer wrote. Then Lucy was leaving him. She said to me, "F*ck him, you're someone with talent.

Since Cher finalized his divorce from Bono in 1975, Ball's advice seems to have been helpful.

Cher also revealed in memoirs that she had known Ball since she was young, and the pair reconnected in 1972 at an election results party hosted by Jack Benny.

"Lucille was also obviously bored, and as the votes began to enter she began making wisecracks about "windbags" giving commentary on what each update means

In another excerpt from her memoir, Cher was "trapped" in her "marriage without love" to Bono, through people. I remember that I felt that I had been given the opportunity to do so. Looking back on the devastating night in Las Vegas in 1972, Cher said, "I was lonely and dizzy.She went out to the hotel balcony and thought of suicide. "I saw how easy it was to simply disappear beyond the edge," the singer wrote.

Cher continued, "Like crazy for a few minutes I couldn't imagine any other option. I've done this five or six times.In the end, Cher said, "I don't need to jump... i can leave him.She also thought of the impact her death might have on her fans, saying, "Hings like this could make people looking up at me feel that it's a viable solution.""
