Teri Hatcher "absolutely does not ignore" this year's 60th birthday
Teri Hatcher turns 60 this year and she is preparing to celebrate the occasion in a way that feels right to her.
Hatcher is set to be treated to a very special birthday present:Her new movie How to Fall In Love By Christmas will be released on her big day itself,12 May. 8.
This film — a cozy lifelong Christmas romance — is the first time Hatcher has made a film debut on an actual birthday, and she's snugly excited about it.
"Throughout my career, I've never had an air of cinema on my birthday," the star of Desperate Wives weekly at the Amazing Lifetime event on Nov 19.
Hatcher explained that she usually does nothing for her birthday, but this year feels different.
"Yeah, that's too much. But this birthday really felt like I wanted to recognize it the way I felt," she told the outlet. "So my daughter turned 27 this year, I said to her, I go, "It feels like a real age." It is legal age, 27.She continued, "And in an interesting way, I feel like 60 is the legal age. And what it makes me aware of is that the people I surround myself with — this core [group], we go the distance.
In terms of what the celebration looks like, the actress said, "I have a group of 20 people and we're all going to celebrate in a really special way. I'm just honored that my friends have kind of gone above and beyond to celebrate with me. I have definitely not ignored it this year.
Hatcher doesn't usually really celebrate her birthday, but it doesn't stop her from reflecting. For her 59th birthday last year, she appeared to announce she was copying Jane Fonda's aging philosophy of "purposeful living" as she re-shared Fonda's footage explaining it in an Instagram story (via people). Love it!
