Prince Andrew may have saved his house, but it reportedly needs more thanと300k for restoration work
It was recently reported that Prince Andrew had secured enough money to stay at his home, the Royal Lodge in Windsor. But a new report suggests the Duke of York may be facing a huge house renovation bill simply to keep his expensive property.
Speaking ofHi! Magazine, our Terry Fisher suggested that Andrew's renovation bill could reach as much as much320,000 to buy a home.
"As the Royal Lodge shows visible signs of aging, including paint peeling, external brick mold, and potential wet or inadequate insulation," these issues point to postponed maintenance that can lead to more serious structural damage if not addressed immediately.
Fisher also pointed out that potential flood damage could cause major problems for Andrew's house, suggesting he had already "collapsed."
Just last week, the Sunday Times reported that Andrew had managed to secure finances to remain at the Royal Lodge. Before that, there were rumors that it appeared as if the Duke of York would be forced to leave the house and that King Charles was ready to cut off his brother financially.
It is unclear how Andrew raised the money, but the palace has now signed him to stay at the residence. It is understood that Prince Andrew's money was approved by Sir Michael Stevens, the keeper of the secret wallet, as being from legitimate sources.
Back on May 8, it was reported that Charles had stopped funding Andrew's security team at the Royal Lodge. It was also reported that the king expected Andrew to move from the Royal Lodge to a small property, failing to financially maintain the 30-room building.
However, Andrew allegedly refused to leave the Royal Lodge and believed he would be seen as "publicly accepting guilt" over the allegations made against him.
Royal Expert Robert Hardman shared the news that Andrew's financial problems were worsening in an updated version of his book.Charles 3: The New King. New court. Inside story. Hardman claimed that King Charles had reportedly removed Andrew's approximately1130 million allowance. "The Duke is no longer the financial burden of the king," he wrote.
