Olivia Munn helps her husband John Mulaney stay calm by doing random drug tests, the couple revealed in the new GQ Man of The Year cover story.

Munn started this when he was 6 months pregnant and decided to work hard on Mulaney's recovery from the perspective of considering raising his son Malcolm as a couple.

Speaking of drug testing, the comedian said, "It's kind of a relief. I like that it can't even be a question in her or someone else's mind. Something about peeing in that cup is like I'm walking this walk. It gives me confidence.

Mulaney checked into the rehab facility 2 times before his drinking got stuck, and while Munn was pregnant with Malcolm, he was newly sober.

"It was like seeing a man in a tsunami," the actress told GQ. "I was seeing a new, sober person at the edge of a cliff, and I didn't know him enough to help him.

In the same interview, Mann revealed that she and Mulaney barely knew each other when she became pregnant. "It wasn't close to 'dating'," she said. "I knew very little of him.

During pregnancy, they worked on whether to raise Malcolm while they were romantically together, and eventually decided to marry sometime in 2021/11 2 months before his birth

They married sometime in 2024 and welcomed their second child (a baby girl named May) together in 2024/9/2. It was a great experience.

As for Mulaney's journey into drinking, he is incredibly open about his struggle with addiction, both through comedy and various interviews.

During a late—night appearance with Seth Meyers in 2021-9, the comedian revealed that he and Mann are expecting their first child. He also revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer, and also looked into his life in detail last year - including his divorce from Anna Marie Tendler, his stint in rehab and his relapse.

"Well, so, since the 9th month of last year, uh... I went to rehab on 9 May, okay, I got out on 10 May, I move out of my house from my ex-wife, I live Saturday night on Halloween.. Well later," Mulaney told Meyers.

He said, "Then I continued to use drugs. As you recall, you and some other friends staged an intervention. I went to rehab again, this time for two months. I came out on the 2nd month, I lived in a rustic life for another 1 and a half months... that..... The riot was 1/6, but I had nothing to do with it.

It was at that point that he met Mann, and the rest is history.
