Queen Camilla makes a frank admission about smoking after returning to work after a breast infection

So far the May 2 has been rough after Queen Camilla was forced to cancel a 2-week royal event, including 1 major anniversary contracts, due to a chest infection.11 But as the Queen returned to duties on Wednesday, 11 May. 13, she shared a bite about her rumored smoking habits with one movie star.

Camilla joined King Charles, who serves as patron of the film and television charity, for a star-studded reception at Buckingham Palace, during the event she had a candid chat with Peruvian actress Emily Mortimer Paddington.

The Queen knew Emily's mother, Penelope, and when the actress said (through the mirror), "Penny will send her love," Camilla replied that Emily's mother was like, "Oh, she's still smoking as much as ever," the Mary Poppins Returns star replied.

The pair shared a laugh and the queen said, "Oh, is she still in the fags?"(English to American English translation: cigarettes). But Mortimer turned the question around and said, "Oh, did you stop fags?"

Queen Camilla, who has long been rumored to be a smoker, straightened the record by saying, "Oh, I quit 20 years ago."

This is not the first time the Queen's smoking habit (or lack thereof) has come out in recent months. In an interview with The Times on May 9, Her Majesty's son, Tom Parker Bowles, said, "Oh, I know she has a reputation for drinking and smoking gin." Do not smoke.

However, Tom revealed that his mother was "probably" the first queen to cook her own meal in another recent interview.

As for the Buckingham Palace reception, the King and Queen also chatted with actor Damien Lewis, who plays the king in the Tudor series Wolf Hall: Mirror and Light, which will premiere on PBS in 2025.

While discussing the infamous Henry 8th, Lewis tells Charles, "At least you can argue that you have nothing to do with him!"

Camilla, who said she was "in repair" after her chest infection, met a lot of stars during the reception, but she decided to go home instead of attending Wednesday night's Red Carpet premiere.

"I'm sorry I didn't come tonight. I'll cough through it," she apologized to Director Ridley Scott, who attended the Buckingham Palace reception.

It has been a big week for the Queen as her groundbreaking documentary about domestic violence despite being forced to take it easy due to her illness, Her Majesty: Behind Closed Doors, premiered on ITV.
