Jennifer Lawrence turns an unusual vintage gown into the most chic black maternity dress
Celebrities don't waste any time before churning out holiday party costume inspiration on this week's Red Carpet. Lawrence was draped in all black and watched every bit the movie star, in a gown from the label Autumn/Winter 2006 Ready-to-wear collection. The piece was sourced from Shrimpton Couture and styled by jamie Mizrahi. On her dress there were fluffy tulle off-the-shoulder sleeves, black satin ribbons and just a hint of beaded decor. The luxe finish, along with patent leather Manolo Blahnik heels, made her feel that the runway design was suitable for the festive season.
In her eyes, Lawrence was wearing a smoky rose shadow, matched by shiny lips. Her "rich girl" blonde hair, on the other hand, curled into loose, vintage-inspired waves and hid behind her ears- the controversial side part clearly made chic
The styling of her gown made no more difference to her runway debut in '06. Lawrence's clean glam and simple hairstyle was the exact opposite of Lacroix's blunt black bob and exaggerated eyeliner tapped for his show.
Let's stand this as proof that we don't need to wear head-to-toe sequins to look completely festive. The attractive LBD just works well.
