Lacey Chabert reacts to Ageist's "Old Talent" comment

Mean Girls star and Christmas movie queen Lacey Chabelle are fighting back against the industry's ageism.

Chabert, who became famous for his 90s TV series 5, is now promoting Netflix's festive flick Hot Frosty. During the new interview, the actress responded to recent reports that employees filed age discrimination against Hallmark, via an independent one. The filing claimed that Hallmark's Vice President of programming called many network stars, including Chabert, "old talent."Hallmark denied the allegations, according to the independent.

"I think it's important that we have the opportunity to tell all our stories at every stage of life," Chaber told Variety.

Chaber continued, "I have as much as I want to share with the audience. Now I am a mother and it is the experience of raising a daughter.

While talking with diversity, Chabert revealed that her daughter plays a key role in the material she undertakes. "It's so important to me to draw a character so that she can respect and learn as a younger generation as well," the actress explained. "And with everything I do, I try to put as many real hearts into it as possible."

As to why Hot Frosty was perfect for her, Chabelle told the outlet, "I love movies that feel good." It's like a movie I personally like to watch, and Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday."

She continued, "I'm so happy that I found myself in this position to get to make all of these Christmas movies, they mean so much to me because I enjoy them so much

revealing why holiday movies are so important, Chabert said." "It brings good memories of my childhood. I have an 8-year-old daughter. By passing along these traditions, it really makes sense to get to create new memories.

According to the lawsuit, Hallmark's executive vice president of programming, Lisa Hamilton Daley, allegedly said, "Lacey gets older and we have to find someone like her to replace her as she gets older." He said.

Casting director Penny Perry, 79, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on May 9 and was "rudely fired after 9 years at the company," Variety reported.

According to Perry's lawsuit, she "needs to bring in someone who knows more young talent.".. Our leading women are aging."

Hallmark responded to the claim in a statement, which said, via Variety,"Lacey and Holly [Robinson Peete] have a home at Hallmark. We do not comment on pending litigation in general. And while we deny these outrageous claims, we are not going to discuss employment relations in the media."
