Olivia Rodrigo lets her Y2K Gucci thong and pencil skirt talk at the Billboard Live Music Summit

Olivia Rodrigo Doesn't care If her underwear is Visible In fact, it was like a point of her costume at the Billboard Live Music Summit in Los Angeles on Thursday. Before winning Tour Artist of the Year, the pop star was pulled up to 1 hotel in West Hollywood and wore a pitch-perfect Y2K look packed with the discoveries of a voracious vintage designer.

The crown jewel of the ensemble was an icy blue low-rise pencil skirt with a small slit on the back from Gucci's Spring/Summer 1998 collection designed by Tom Ford. With an indelible sheen like sparkling snow, the same baby blue silk satin was also used to create jackets and trousers of the collection. Under the skirt, Rodrigo flashed a glimpse of her black patent leather G-string thong with a rhinestone logo buckle. Both the cropped black tank top with exposed thong and her strappy, according to Tom Ford's Spring/Summer 1998 collection or Ford's original runway styling for Gucci as well, the 2-piece is commonly sold as a set along with a black bodycon skirt. It's a good idea. But I do like the look of Rodrigo's colorful remix version — which is probably styled by Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo — Kana

Rodrigo accessorised the ensemble with Aminamudi black satin Mary Jane Pumps, Tiffany . White diamond knot earrings and diamond-encrusted Tiffany knot rings. Her nails were painted punchy red for a pop of color that complemented her characteristic brownish-red glossy lips. The rest of her glamour was just as classic as her long brunette hair was styled in sleek punk and her eyes were surrounded by black cat eye liner. Rodrigo has been a glossy ambassador for years, so the sheer flick of her razor was probably created using the brand's pro Tip liquid eyeliner.

In the world of trends after naked dressing, I feel almost nothing shocking anymore. Nudity has been substantially encouraged at red carpet events, and that trend has wormed its way into the everyday closet of women who don't include being a pop star in job descriptions. That said, there remains something irresistible, fun and fascinating about the exposed thong peeking out of the celebrity's waistline. It may not be risqué, but the G string still knows how to command attention.
