Olivia Rodrigo is not happy to see her song being used to celebrate Donald Trump's victory.

Earlier this week, as the results were coming in and Trump was getting ready to win the presidency, Team Trump's TikTok account posted a celebratory video. The video was accompanied by the caption, “And all of a sudden out of my mouth came the words ‘I'm the next president...’”

” and was accompanied by the caption, ”I'm the next president of the United States.

The video was set to the sound of Rodrigo's “deja vu,” referring to it as Trump's second presidential victory. However, the unimpressed singer commented, “er, don't use my sound again ty”

. Her comment seems to have since been deleted, and with it the sound: the song was also removed from the video, presumably at Rodrigo's request, for which she owns at least part of the copyright.

TikTok commenters commented, “Olivia removing the déjà vu sound from tiktok is symbolic.”

“Oh, Olivia, you are the icon,” commented one person, “OLIVIA ATE.”

And, We who believe in reproductive freedom will stop Donald Trump's extreme abortion ban! “

Rodrigo is a longtime reproductive rights activist and founded Fund 4 Good to ensure women and girls' education, reproductive rights, and safety from gender-based violence.

In 2021, Rodrigo met with Vice President Harris to discuss vaccines, and it is not surprising that she would not be comfortable with the Trump campaign using her music. She feels the same way about legendary singer Celine Dion.
