Kate Middleton mourns Princess Diana on the second day of the memorial service.

Kate Middleton made a series of public appearances over the weekend with members of the Royal Family to pay tribute to the military, veterans, and her late mother-in-law.

On Sunday, November 10, the Princess attended Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph in London. Her appearance was the second time the world and royal fans got a glimpse of the embattled royal family, which has spent much of the year enduring preventive chemotherapy treatments for a yet-to-be-identified type of cancer.

Princess Kate also attended the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on November 9, the day before, along with her husband Prince William, Prince Charles, Prince Edward, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.

During her appearance on November 9, “People” reported that Princess Kate casually paid tribute to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, wearing a pair of Collingwood pearl earrings that had once belonged to her.

On November 10, Middleton also paid a casual but substantial tribute to Princess Diana, wearing an all-black ensemble by Catherine Walker & Company, one of her former mother-in-law's favorite designers, People also reported.

“Walker is also a friend of Princess Diana's and Princess Diana wore her work from early in her royal life, including when she toured Australia with Prince Charles and Prince William in 1983,” the magazine wrote.

Princess Diana died in Paris on August 31, 1997, at age 36.

As many media outlets have noted, the Prince and Princess of Wales recently updated their Instagram accounts with photos from their public appearances.

“Honestly, it was a ‘horrible’ year,” Prince William said of 2024, which saw his wife and father diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment. It was probably the hardest year of my life.”

Her series of appearances underscored Princess Kate's slow but steady return to full-time royal duties following the end of her cancer treatment.

“As the summer draws to a close, I can't tell you how relieved I am to finally be done with chemotherapy. The last nine months have been incredibly hard for our family.” As you know, life changes in an instant and we have had to find our way through rough waters and unknowns. The cancer journey is complicated, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.

“My focus now is to do what I can to remain cancer-free,” she continued. She continued, “Chemotherapy is over, but the road to healing and full recovery is a long one, and I have to take it one day at a time. However, I am looking forward to getting back to work and making a few more public appearances in the coming months when possible.”
