Timothée Chalamet crashes look-alike contest
Timothée Chalamet did the funniest thing: He broke into his own look-alike contest.
The Dune actor showed up at the event in New York City on Sunday and infiltrated a crowd that included many people dressed as his various movies and fashion periods.
Of course, there was one smoking gun that showed that Chalamet was really Chalamet and not a really good impersonator: he was accompanied by a large number of bodyguards to ensure his personal safety.
Chalamet, sporting a mustache, dressed in black and wearing a backwards baseball cap, stopped by to take selfies with fans.
“The energy intensified when the real Timothée Chalamet made a surprise appearance,” contestant Reid Putman contributed to CNN. 'But he quickly disappeared, making his way through the crowd and back to his car on the outskirts of the park. He must have known that if he stayed longer, things would escalate.”
As AP News reported, the event was eventually shut down by police for being “unauthorized,” but at least the participants had a good time before that.
21-year-old Miles Mitchell was the eventual winner, and the contestant told the AP, “I'm excited and overwhelmed. There were so many look-alikes. It was a real toss-up."
The contestant said.
Asked what it takes to successfully embody Chalamet, 27-year-old contestant Lauren Klass told the Associated Press, “The nose is everything. All of his frame, really.”
As part of the contest, contestants were also apparently asked how well they spoke French (Chalamet is bilingual) and about their “romantic intentions with Kylie Jenner.”
Chalamet and Jenner have been dating since the spring of 2023 and seem to be very much in love.
