Lucas Bravo Hints at Dropping “Emily in Paris” Because It's an “Uninspired” Series

The fourth season of “Emilie in Paris” has made the relationship between Emilie and her neighbor Gabriel even more complicated. Now actor Lucas Bravo, who plays one of the hottest chefs on television, suggests he may be ready to leave Netflix altogether.

In a new interview with French publication Le Figaro, Bravo expressed frustration with the way Emilie and Gabrielle's romance played out in “Emilie in Paris” season 4. Everything was built on a lack of communication,” he told the magazine (via The Independent).

The couple's communication problems bothered Bravo, which he told Le Figaro was “a bit old-fashioned.” These days, the new generation is verbal and confrontational.

Bravo is concerned that viewers will grow tired of the will-they-or-won't-they nature of Emily and Gabriel's relationship, which has gone on for four seasons.

“People see this mechanism coming from miles away, and I don't want to be part of a cog that tends not to consider the intelligence of the viewer,” he explained.

Bravo also noted the amount of time he spends filming Emily in Paris each year, saying that “life is short.” He continued, “It takes five months to shoot this series. Do I want to sacrifice them by telling (stories) that don't inspire me?” He continued.

As if his comments were not cruel enough, Bravo also said of the series, “I don't really like what it has become and where this story is going.”

The “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris” star admitted that as an actor he does not have much control over his character's storyline. However, as Bravo's fame grew, he was given more opportunities.

“I didn't really have a lot of freedom [in ‘Emily in Paris’], and now that everyone is giving me freedom elsewhere, I'm getting a taste,” he told the outlet.

Of playing Gabriel, Bravo told Le Figaro, “I don't understand him anymore. But we'll see what happens... Darren (Starr) has a plan. I just have to go along with it."

The ”I'm not going to be a part of it, I'm going to be a part of it.

Fans are eagerly awaiting season 5 of “Emily in Paris,” but it may be quite some time before we find out if Emily and Gabriel are done forever.
