Beyonce Warns Tina Knowles Not to “Spill Too Much Mama Tea” in Memoir

Beyonce's reaction to the announcement of her mother Tina Knowles' memoir was most amusing.

On Tuesday, October 29, Knowles shared news of her upcoming book in an Instagram post. I am thrilled to announce that my memoir, MATRIARCH, will be published this April. I have always been a storyteller, something I learned from my mother.”

Knowles revealed why she decided to write the book, “When I had my own family, I knew I needed to know where my daughters came from in order to know where they were going. Strength, motherhood, black pride, and identity.

Knowles continued. “I call this book MATRIARCH because what inspires me is the wisdom that women pass on to each other from generation to generation, the inner wisdom we yearn to discover within ourselves... At 70 years old, I am still learning valuable lessons, lessons that I hope to share with my readers. I now want to share this knowledge one-on-one with my readers. We laugh and sometimes cry together through every stage of life.

In a matching Instagram post, Beyonce wrote, “Mom, I couldn't be more proud.” She continued, “My love for you is beyond words.”

Sharing her own excitement over Knowles' memoir, the “Halo” singer wrote: “I'm so proud of you. I'm glad you shared some of the stories that shaped you. To know you is to love you. But don't spill too much mommy tea.”

As the mother of Beyonce and Solange Knowles, Tina probably has an incredible story about raising two very successful women.

Earlier this month, Tina told People at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards, “I've always been a very strong woman. That's my credo. She continued. 'The more you love your children, the more you care for them, the more you support them, the more you get out of it.'
