The actress took to Instagram on Monday, October 28, after the 2024 CFDA Awards to give fans a closer look at her stunning beauty look, created by makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez. While showing off her perfectly plumped lips, which were created using the trendy Gen Z technique of using eyeshadow instead of lip liner, Lively couldn't help but recall her own teenage beauty faux pas.

“Accepting that we are millennial girls who used to wash off makeup and wear lip gloss with an amazing amount of pepper inside plumped up because in high school, we were THAT committed to a bad idea,” the star said in her Instagram story She confessed.

She added, “Turns out eyeshadow is much less painful than Carolina Leeper.”

The Gossip Girl alum concluded her post by thanking Gonzalez “for not turning my mouth into an episode of Hot Ones.”

After doing a little research on TikTok on the topic, one creator recently used eyeshadow as a lip liner tip, saying it “lasts much longer and looks much nicer.” I'm intrigued.

For those who want to recreate Lively's painless pout, Gonzalez outlined Armani Beauty's Lip Power Long Lasting Satin Lipstick in shade 106 in matte shade 207. The soft makeup perfectly accented Michael Kors' stark white ensemble at the CFDA Awards, held at the Museum of Natural History in New York City.

Her dress featured a ribbed white top with a high slit and a sparkling sequined skirt, which she draped over her shoulders with an oversized white blazer.

Lively attended the gala this year for the first time in a decade and wowed the crowd wearing a huge Lorraine Schwartz diamond pendant and the designer's glittering bracelets, earrings, and rings.
